They overcome both conventional ADSL's hard upstream limit (<1 Mbps) and the unreliability issues related to some ISPs. comBOX extensions are based on the same operating principle as the Virtual Leased Line service. Consequently, a new IP address is provided for use by the remote clients who wish to access the locally hosted servers. More than one IP address can be provided for multiple server setups.

Note that using the comBOX equipment improves the Internet connection's overall speed and reliability thanks to the Load Balanced DSL service. All functionalities offered by the Load Balanced DSL service are included in all comBOX Extensions.
